Frequently asked questions
It’s normal to have questions before getting started.
Here are some of the most common ones—so you can feel more clear and confident about what to expect.
-
You don’t need to come in with the “right words.”
Most people start in exactly that place—unsure how to explain what’s going on.
That’s part of what we’ll figure out together.
-
The first step is a free consultation.
This gives us a chance to talk through what’s going on and see if working together feels like a good fit.
There’s no pressure—you get to decide what feels right for you.
-
Sessions are focused, intentional, and grounded.
We won’t spend time going in circles or just talking about the same things over and over again.
Instead, we’ll focus on helping you:
get clear on what you want
reconnect with your own direction
and begin moving forward in a way that feels real and sustainable
-
We may touch on the past when it’s helpful.
But our focus isn’t on analyzing everything that’s gone wrong.
It’s on helping you move toward what you want now—and building from there.
-
That’s more common than you might think.
Often, it’s not that therapy “doesn’t work”—it’s that the approach or the therapist wasn’t the right fit.
This work is different in that we focus less on the problem and more on helping you access what actually moves things forward.
-
You get to decide this.
Some people notice shifts fairly quickly. Others take more time to build momentum.
Our goal isn’t to keep you in therapy longer than necessary—it’s to help you create meaningful change as efficiently as possible.
-
Yes—both.
I offer in person and online therapy in Newberg, Oregon, so you can choose what works best for you.
-
The first step is reaching out through the contact page.
From there, we’ll schedule a free consultation and talk through what’s going on and what you’re looking for.
-
That’s okay.
You don’t have to force yourself into taking a step you’re not ready for.
But if part of you is starting to wonder if things could be different—that’s something worth paying attention to.

My goal is to help you; not to charge for missed sessions.

a car accident
a death in the family
or a serious illness
Situations like work conflicts, children’s activities, or childcare issues are not considered emergencies under this policy.

I am private pay only.
